Epson Smart Device Integration (SDI) setup

This article will guide you with the setup of Print&Share CQ (P&S CQ) Smart Device Integration (SDI) for Epson.

Configuration

  1. Make sure the Epson printers are installed on the Windows Server by installing the specific Epson drivers for your Epson printer model(s). Normally this is on the server where P&S CQ is installed.
(These printer drivers can be found at the Seiko Epson Corp. website.)
  2. Prepare your Epson printer(s) for Print&Share CQ.
  3. In P&S CQ navigate to Manage > Smart Device Integration > General.
  4. Enable shared folder, select Predefined shared folder and select Custom for Share user and fill in the Username, Password and Domain.
The user can be a domain user.

Note: when you have a hybrid environment with Print&Share CQ with SDI for Xerox you need to have a local user instead of a domain user (use server name or leave domain field empty in the case of a local user).

  1. Navigate to Manage > Smart Device Integration > Epson.
Here you should see all Epson printers. Every Epson printer in that overview should have an IP address asigned to it, so that P&S CQ can communicate with it. You can asign an IP address to a printer in Manage > Output > Printers.
  2. Now we will configure P&S CQ on the Epson printer. In Manage > Smart Device Integration > Epson select a printer and edit it. Fill in the device Password and for Desired actions select Print&Share CQ app: Install and Apply.

If everything is configured correctly, you now have Smart Device Integration for Epson configured on the device.

By using Epson Device Admin you can further control and secure your Epson printers (e.g. by disabling Direct WiFi, ...).
