Symptoms

The Epson shows the following message on the Control Panel:

Authentication error. Check the location, user name and password.

This is an error message from the Epson device itself.

Cause

There is a chance that the Epson device cannot access a folder location to store the results of a scan.

Resolution

• Make sure the pc and/or server with Print&Share CQ is online and accessible.
• Verify that the Shared folder in the General settings of the Smart Device Integration (SDI) is configured correctly in Print&Share CQ.
• In case you changed the password of the Share user of the Shared folder for the Smart Device Integration. Make sure you reflect your changes also in the General settings of Smart Device Integration section in Print&Share CQ.
  (a restart of the P&S CQ service could be needed).
