Creating a new custom paper size for printing

In this case we are going to create a new custom paper size for a Zebra ZD220 203dpi ZPL label printer. This will allow us to use this customer paper size in Microsoft Word and Print&Share v3.

Configuration

  1. Open Print Management
(Press WINDOWS KEY+R fill in printmanagement.msc in the Run-dialog and press OK)

  2. In the Print Management dialog on the left side, navigate to Print Management > Print Servers > [you PC or Server] > Forms.

  3. Right-click on Forms and choose Manage Forms... to open the Print Server Properties.

  4. On the Forms tab page:

    1. Enable the Create a new form.
    2. Fill in the Form name: for example: Zebra ZD220 label
    3. Set the Width: to 10,40cm. (Units: Metric)
    4. Set the Height: to 5,05cm.
  5. Click Save Form.

  6. Click OK

Note: if you receive "Invalid number. 'Paper Size' and 'Print Area Margins' should all be positive numbers defining a valid paper size and valid printable area margins." Means that you should check comma (,) and dots (.) in your numbers: 10,40cm vs. 10.40cm.

Note: Applications should be restarted to be able to select your newly created custom paper size. In some cases a reboot of the computer is also needed.
