File Processor log files consist out of 2 parts. A client log and a server log.
Client log
- Open File Processor
- Go to Options.
- In the menu navigate to Help.
- Select
Help > Log Files
. - Click the Client Log button.
Here you can export the log file by clicking Save log file and sending it to support.
On the pc where the viewer is installed the default location is:
C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\Winking\File Processor\Viewer\Support\MainLog.txt
Server log
To access the server log via the user interface an active server connection is required.
- Open File Processor
- Open a connection so that the viewer/client is connected to the server/service.
- Go to Options.
- In the menu navigate to Help.
- Select
Help > Log Files
. - Click the Server Log button.
Here you can export the log file by clicking Save log file and sending it to support.
On the server where the service is installed the default location is:
C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\Winking\File Processor\Service\Support\MainLog.txt
Support
When support asks for File Processor log files, send both (client and server) log files.
You can rename MainLog.txt
to MainLog-server.txt
or MainLog-client.txt
depending on the log type.
Additionaly you can check Windows Event Viewer and see if warnings or errors happen related to File Processor.
